GDC vs. The big guy...

truly a fair fight!

Once in a while I bump into an Organization that buys all of their imprinted apparel from Lands End. As a business owner who makes her livelihood from selling these types of embroidered goods, this fact really disappoints me.

As this same business owner in Virginia Beach, Va,., I have to then ask myself why a group would choose the big guy over the not so big, GDC. Lets analyze the pros and cons of each potential embroidery sale.

For this exercise GDC will be . GDC and Lands End will be the big guy. Game On!!

When you call GDC, we will ask lots of questions to try to get to know you, your company and your needs. Sitting in your comfy chair at work, you and GDC can look at our website and discuss options. Whether you are searching for an embroidered sport shirts, hats, sweatshirts, etc, we work with you to find the right fit. We can also email options to save you time and effort once we know and have keyed into your needs. This process can take as few as 10 minutes or as long as a few days of back and forth discussions. You receive one price for the quantity you desire. Only orders under 24 pieces incur a digitizing fee. Once an order is placed we start work on the logo and the shirts are ordered soon after. You can request to come in and try items on for size. Change-outs occur at no cost to you as long as they occur before the items are embroidered. No items are embroidered until you approve the logo.

When you call the big guy, you must first download and send the art before any price can be discussed. There is the price of the item and then the price to embroider must be added to that price. Digitizing has an additional cost of around $95.00. Edits to the design can incur even more fees. The only products that you can choose are from the big guy s catalog. Samples must be shipped to you, at your cost and then shipped back to the big guy . Shipping is always a cost. No items are embroidered until you approve the logo.

PROS:

-We ask questions and get to know you and your business.

-We study and know hundreds of Manufacturers and their catalogs. More brands. (Department Store Brands). More selection.

-You work with the same people. You are a name with a face.

-You are given one price less confusion

-Our prices are lower.

-We rework designs to sew onto different garments at no extra cost to you.

-You are able to try-on garments and make changes at no extra cost even for smaller orders.

-You have access to a huge assortment of items on-line

-Rush orders are available and favors are all part of the package.

-You have a choice for delivery, your order can be shipped or you can pick it up.

CONS:

-We do not have our own personal National Brand

-We do not have people who answer the phone 24/7

-Our web site, although effective is not totally state-of-the art

-We do not employ hundreds of people

-We do not come up first in a GOOGLE search

-Our advertising budget is not very large

Even if you are ordering from outside of Hampton Roads, you are a face, a voice and you will be remembered. We are not part of a huge company and our wages are directly proportional to your satisfaction, so GDC will go to great lengths to make you happy. If you look really closely, you will find GDC Embroidery...... a Spirited Company with Quick Feet and a Powerful Knock-Out Punch!
